More about Justin

Greetings, Earthlings!

I’m Justin Benjamin, perhaps better known as Benjy! I’m twenty-one and nine-tenths (at the time of writing this), and I’m a first year Journalism – Web and Print student. If you’ve seen me around campus, that’s because I’ve already been here for two years, in a different program. So… I’m a first year, but also not a first year. It’s complicated. I’m a fraud.

Anyway.

As far as my interests go, I’m a writer, a gamer, an actor, and a singer. I also make some absolutely bangin’ Mac and Cheese. If I’m known for anything, it’s for my ability to see the silver lining in any situation, and for generally trying to be as upbeat as possible. School is stressful enough, and I’ve made it my mission to have as much fun with it as possible.

Mainly through sarcasm and lame puns. It’s kind of a gift.

On a (slightly) more serious note, one of my primary goals as a student here at Durham College is to be a recognizable person that students, new and otherwise, can approach/talk to/ask for help. Whether that’s through being one of the Executives of the DC/UOIT Drama Club or just attending most of the events here at the school, my mission is to make sure that everyone knows who I am and knows that I’m here to help.

That’s why I love being on Team Experience – it gives me a platform through which I can help people. So if any of you have questions about anything, that’s what I’m here for; presumably with a smile on my face and a glass of red wine in my hand.

I was only like… sixty-two percent serious about the red wine.

I’m super excited for the new school year, and can’t wait to meet all of you!

After all, as a wise man once said, “all friends start out as strangers.”

That wise man was me. Just now. So. That’s cool.
